She met President Rajapaksa at Temple Trees this afternoon and intimated to the President of her decision to support the Constitutional Amendment. Expressing views, she said the country’s future will lie on the far sighted programmed of the President. She further said that she would be voting in favour of the Constitutional Amendment in Parliament tomorrow. Upeksha Swarnamali contested the Gampaha District from the UNP and received the second highest preferential votes. She rose to popularity from the “Paba” teledrama telecast over ITN. It was through this popularity that she was able to become a Parliamentarian.
