Description

Preserving the territorial integrity is equally important as gaining freedom and we have already made so many sacrifices for that, President Mahinda Rajapaksa said at the 63rd Independence Day celebrations in Katharagama.

   We have managed to increase the per capita income to USD 2400 during the last five years a huge increase from what we achieved from 1948 to 2005, the President added.  

The President further said that not only popular decisions but difficult ones also had to be made for the betterment of the country and that he was willing to do so. (Daily MIrror online)
