Gampaha voters protest Paba's 'politriks' By Ada Derana

Voters from the Gampaha District held a protest against Paba or Upeksha Swarnamali’s recent crossover to the government side in the township of Kirillawela in Kadawatha.

The protestors claimed that Ms. Swarnamali had gone to Parliament through the votes of the United National Party (UNP) supporters and had betrayed them by joining the government for monetary considerations.

The protest was organized by Western Provincial Councillor U. George Perera and Opposition supporters in the area.

Recent media reports suggested that Ms. Swarnamali’s husband had forced her to support the government’s 13th Amendments to the Constitution and that another government member had offered a large amount of money for the crossover.

She attended the UNP protest at the Parliamentary complex dressed in black but later voted for the amendments in Parliament along with another few UNP members.

පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රිනී උපේක්ෂා ස්වර්ණමාලි මහත්මිය ආණ්ඩු පක්ෂයට සහය දීම පිළිබඳව විරෝධය පළ කරමින් ගම්පහ දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ ජන පිරිසක් උද්ඝෝෂණයක නිරතවිය. ඒ කඩවත, කිරිල්ලවල ප්‍රදේශයේදීය. එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂයේ ජනතාවගෙන් ඡන්දය ලබාගෙන පාර්ලිමේන්තුවට තේරී පත්වී මූල්‍යමය වාසි පතමින් පාවාදීමක් සිදුකළ බව මෙම විරෝධතාකරුවන් පිරිස ස්වර්ණමාලි මහත්මියට චෝදනා කරනු ලැබීය.

මෙම උද්ඝෝෂණ ව්‍යාපාරය සංවිධානය කරනු ලැබ තිබුණේ බස්නාහිර පළාත් සභා මන්ත්‍රී යූ. ජෝර්ජ් පෙරේරා මහතා සහ එම ප්‍රදේශයේ එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂ ආධාරකරුවන් විසිනි. පසුගියදා පැවති 18 වන ව්‍යවස්ථා සංශෝධන පනත් කෙටුම්පතට පක්ෂව පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රිනී උපේක්ෂා ස්වර්ණමාලි මහත්මිය සිය ඡන්දය භාවිත කරනු ලැබීය.

Cross over is not nice who ever done because they came to power with using UNP votes. They are trying to sale UNP votes only for their luxury lives.

It is not a surprise...that is the trend now...even thoro has jumped to the other side purely for financial gains they are getting. WHo is Paba then? Take it easy...Life is like that.. Concentrate on more important things...
